Paul Burger legacy
Celebrating a founding director whose generosity and advocacy helped shape modern GA safety education.
Paul Burger is a founding director of the WINGS Industry Network and a lifelong advocate for general aviation safety. A 2,500-hour ATP, past chair of the WINGS Industry Advisory Committee (WIAC), and a member of the AOPA Air Safety Institute Hat in the Ring society, Paul has invested deeply—personally and philanthropically—in proficiency training.
In 1997, Paul gifted $550,000 to the AOPA Air Safety Foundation to support GA safety. In 2004, AOPA dedicated their Safety & Philanthropy Report to him. Through WIN he continues to champion the Paul and Fran Burger WINGS Sweepstakes and collaborative industry education.
