Improve your pilot skills through structured proficiency training.
To reduce the number of preventable aviation accidents, the FAA established the WINGS Pilot Proficiency Program. Courses and ongoing flight training with an authorized instructor create opportunities for pilots to improve skills and knowledge. You select the category and class of aircraft for training and demonstrate flight proficiency. Learning opportunities also include online courses, seminars, webinars, and events—many offered by industry partners—where you can earn WINGS credits.

Take a step above Basic. Work with your instructor to tailor a portion of training to your specific needs while still demonstrating proficiency.
Even more flexibility for specialized training—often at higher practical-test standards—and room for specialized equipment and flight-environment scenarios.
